Street Lights
Well-lit roads help to reduce traffic accidents and crime, and to deter anti-social behaviour.
Ceredigion County Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of many of the street lights throughout Ceredigion. However, please note that not all street lights in the county are the responsibility of the Council:
- Lights on private land are often the responsibility of the land owner
- The A487 and A44 form part of the Welsh Government’s Trunk Road Assets and the responsibility for their maintenance belongs with the North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency. To record a lighting fault on the Trunk Road call 0300 123 1213
Please visit the Temporary Traffic Lights page for more information.
Log a fault or Issue:
The quickest and easiest way to report and track a street lighting fault is through My Account. By reporting the issue online, you can submit the fault at any time and monitor its progress without needing to contact us for updates.
Before reporting a fault, please make a note of the Unit Number displayed on the asset, as this will help us identify the exact location and process your request more quickly. If you are unable to locate the Unit Number or need assistance with your report, please telephone 01545 572572.
Through My Account you can report issues relating to street lights, lit bollards, lit signs, pedestrian crossings, permanent traffic lights and flashing warning signals.
In the event of an emergency, please telephone 01545 572572. For out-of-hours emergencies, contact 01970 625277 (North Ceredigion) or 01239 851604 (South Ceredigion).
