Al Lewis to perform at Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum
Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum is to welcome bilingual singer songwriter, Al Lewis, for the first time this year as part of his Christmas performances across Wales.
Held on Friday 20 December at 7:30pm, Al brings a mix of his own songwriting, such as his Dylan Thomas's inspired - 'A Childs Christmas In Wales' combined with a mixture of familiar Christmas classics - a night where everyone can bathe in the Christmas cheer.
Al has released a total of 7 albums. His solo debut English language album ‘In the Wake’ was nominated for the inaugural Welsh Music Prize and his Welsh language albums have all spent multiple weeks at #1 on the BBC Cymru Welsh Language Charts.
Supporting Al is Osgled, a new music project by Bethan Ruth who is based in Machynlleth, mid Wales. Viewers can expect experimental ethereal layers, sad synth teamed with dreamy vocals.
Carrie Canham, Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum Curator said: “We are totally thrilled that Al Lewis wants to come and play his music – what a treat for Christmas and everyone in Aberystwyth. It is expected to be an evening of festive celebration and entertainment."
Councillor Catrin M S Davies, Ceredigion's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Customer Services, said: “Al Lewis' Christmas concerts attract audiences from all over because it creates a distinctive seasonal feel. This is a perfect night to start the festivities.”
Tickets are priced at £14 for early bird, £16 on the door, £12 for concessions and free of charge for carers (with a Carer ID). For more information and tickets visit https://ceredigionmuseum.digitickets.co.uk/event-tickets/60714?catID=58487
